Exceptional large vintage NASA's Apollo 11 Mission photograph of the astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin in front of the American flag photographed by Neil Armstrong the 20th July 1969. Large vintage chromogenic print on matt "A Kodak Paper" mounted tightly on cardboard.

During each landing mission, American astronauts planted an American flag on the Moon. Here, Buzz Aldrin faces the first of these flags he has just saluted.Through his visor, we can see his face looking Neil Armstrong who is photographing him. On the ground appear the first traces of human footsteps of history on an extraterrestrial territory.

NASA's Apollo 11 mission’s large format photographs are rare. They have been produced in order to be exposed or to be given to important personalities, particularly to the leaders of NASA’s "contractors" (companies under contract with NASA who were responsible for developing particular aspects of the American space program).

These large-format photographs were thus often presented in the premises of directorates or personalities. Their iconic status made them true trophies of war: the brilliant success of the American space conquest is inscribed in the marble of the History of Humanity.

From the mid-1970s, these photographs were naturally set aside and forgotten.Very few have been preserved until now. They subsequently became one of the most significant testimonies of the most important moment in the history of the human space conquest: Man’s first step on the Moon.
