A fine, rare and small 18K gold and enamel triple case verge watch with matching chatelaine, made for the Turkish market.Signed Markwick Markham Perigal, London, no. 16'798, circa 1780.Gilt-finished verge movement, chain fusée, finely pierced and engraved balance cock and foot, diamond endstone, pierced pillars, white enamel dial, Turkish numerals, gilt beetle and poker hands, inner case with polychrome champlevé enamel floral decorated band, reverse with a finely painted polychrome enamel bouquet of flowers on translucent pink enamel background, scalloped middle case with polychrome enamel floral decorated bezel and undulating rim, reverse with a finely painted polychrome enamel lake scene depicting a frigate in full sail, scalloped outer protective case with polychrome champlevé enamel floral decorated undulating rim, glazed back, matching gold and enamel châtelaine decorated with painted polychrome enamel lakeside scenes, hinged silver clip to the back, dial and movement signed.39 mm. overall diam., overall length of the châtelaine approx. 80 mm..Provenance.For a note on the late Albin Schaeder see lot 350 in this auction..Pre-Lot Text.From the Collection of the late Albin Schaeder.Literature.Prominently illustrated and explained in De underbara Uren by Albin Schaeder, pp. 35 - 37..View Lot Notes ›
