The history of Gucci Jackie

Gucci Jackie bags

Immediately recognizable by its rounded edges and unique closure, the Jackie bag is the icon of the Gucci House.

Created in the 1950s, the Gucci Jackie bag was named after Jackie Kennedy Onassis, who was particularly fond of it. Because it was regularly photographed on her arm, this bag was named "Jackie" by the Gucci House.

In 2009, the Gucci Jackie bag was revisited by Frida Giannini, Creative Director. This "New Jackie" helped revive the flagship model, becoming an it-bag for a whole new generation of women.
