The history of Louis Vuitton Noé

Louis Vuitton Noé bags

The legend according to Louis Vuitton says that the bucket bag, wonderfully embodied by the Noé design, was created in the thirties for a champagne producer to transport bottles.

It is a tubular bag with a flat base fastened by tightening a leather cord. It was adapted in the sixties to be used as a shoulder bag by the addition of a longer strap. This simply shaped bag is available in both leather and flexible canvas and has attracted generations of young women with its casual, sober good looks. It is a complete break with the more formal and dressy style of bag that those women’s mothers carried.

From the new wave to the hippies, the Noé continued to be in fashion through to the eighties. Recently it has undergone a great revival and this It-Bag has succeeded in becoming a classic.
