Dinh Van Pi Chinois jewellery
Dinh Van’s style exists in opposition to ostentatious, heavy and flashy jewelry. The lines are pure, simple and soft, for a style that is at once contemporary and timeless.
An iconic collection by Dinh Van, the “Pi Chinois” collection combines a sense of wellbeing with exquisite materials. The first Pi Chinois collection was launched in the 1980s, when Dinh Van was inspired by Chinese jade discs to create his range of jewelry. In Asian artwork, these discs are a symbol of infinity, of the heavens, and of well-being. The Pi disc was also used by sovereign rulers as a symbol of power and was sometimes given to notable guests. Each Pi Chinois piece is hand-carved into a unique creation.
In the 1990s, Dinh Van invented the cord bracelet that is today the hallmark of the design house. The collections are made up of rings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets and earrings. Even today, the Pi Chinois collection is an icon of Dinh Van’s work that symbolizes the ideological principles that the brand holds dear: minimalist style in harmony with spiritual wellbeing.
