In the early 1980s, Domino"s decided to give its American shop managers a crazy reward to motivate them to achieve their targets. For $20,000 in weekly profits, a manager could receive a Rolex watch engraved with the logo. A victim of its own success, Domino"s then raised the bar a little higher, demanding four consecutive weeks of profits of between $25,000 and $30,000. The practice ended in the early 2000s, as the weekly target had become much easier to achieve.
